Ayako Yamauchi is a multi award-winning Engineer, Producer, Composer, and Multi-Instruments Player. 9Q is Ayako's production name and it was the name for her former band.
Ayako began playing the piano at the age of 3, and took professional private lessons since then. She also started to play the guitar and electric bass guitar later, and entered Berklee College of Music in 2006 to study Music Production, Sound Design, and Audio Engineering. While at Berklee College of Music, she received the Laurie Anderson Women in Music Award. She also won the prize from the music competition presented by Crypton Future Media, Earth Mix 2010, for her original tune, “Girl’s Street.”
After she graduated from Berklee College of Music, she has worked for Dave Collins Mastering, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Formosa Interactive, Tinitus Sound Design and Music, M-Works Mastering, and other studios and clients as an Audio Engineer. She engineered for top chart artists, such as Namy, Atsushi Asada, Sonali, Deepest Nine, Yuichiro Kotani and many more.
Ayako is proud that she has completed her first Music Video Project, "Eternally" with Takahisa Shiraishi, multi award-winning director and Editor. This Video project won 7 Awards, including Global Music Awards, World Premier Film Awards, and LA Live Film Festival. Also it has been selected by several festivals. Ayako particularly enjoyed the collaboration with talented musicians, Carlo Ribaux, Noriaki Hosoya, and K.K.
